Village Home Based Educators

Fees & Funding Requirements

Fees

Are set by the individual Educators and are per hour. Please chat with your educator about what they charge per hour, for late fees and statutory holidays.

Funding

The Village is able to access 20-hours ECE funding for tamariki aged three years and over. This funding is available until the tamariki starts school or the day before their 6th birthday, whichever comes first.

This funding is also limited to a maximum of 6-hours a day and a maximum of 20-hours per week, across all services. This means you can ‘spend’ the 20-hours at more than one setting but only for a combined maximum of 6-hours all together a day and 20-hours all together a week. The Village passes this funding, at $6.00 per hour, to your Educator.

WINZ

We are a WINZ provider and can access this for you if you are eligible. We then pass this onto your Educator. Please complete all required paperwork BEFORE care begins or as soon as you are eligible as you will be required to pay fees until your application is approved by WINZ.

Family Boost

Together with your Educator, we can provide you with invoices so you can apply, through  MY IR for rebates.

Absences

The Ministry of Education requires that tamariki attend their booked hours.

  • If a child is absent for three consecutive weeks, all funding stops.

  • If a child is absent on the same day, creating a pattern of absence, funding stops for that day or days after three months of patterning.

  • If a tamariki is consistently late to be dropped off or collected, (more than 15 minutes) the MoE will ask to revisit booked hours.

When these patterns of absence become apparent to us, we will contact your Educator and ask for a new attestation to confirm these hours and days are what you want.

Changes of Hours

When you want to change your booked hours we appreciate two weeks notice, especially if your tamariki is accessing 20-hours ECE, WINZ or other funding. This also allows your Educator to plan for her enrolments and income.

Ending Care

If you are considering ending care, please let your Educator know as soon as possible. This is to allow your Educator sufficient time to fill the space in their roll and for us to complete all required paperwork.
